Discover the Aloe Vera, one of the main ingredients of our Les Poulettes masks!
For several years, aloe vera has become an indispensable ingredient in natural cosmetics, not only at Les Poulettes. It is estimated that more than 30,000 tons per year are used in the cosmetics industry.
This is not surprising, considering the numerous benefits of this plant for health and well-being. Aloe vera is mainly known for its soothing and wound-healing properties, but there are many more talents hidden in its leaves.
Let's discover them together.
Fruitful Leaves:
Aloe vera is a succulent plant that can store large amounts of water in its tissues. It is completely covered by a protective bark. Only when it is cut open, the secrets of the aloe leaf are revealed. Just below the rind is the sap of the plant. It is a yellow, very bitter liquid that acts as a vascular system for the plant. In particular, it allows the transport of water, nutrients and phytoactive components synthesized in its roots to the pulp. The pulp represents up to 80% of the weight of the plant and is the most interesting for cosmetics.
A natural source for the beauty and hydration of the skin:
The aloe pulp contains about 200 ingredients that are responsible for its numerous benefits. The high concentration of saccharides such as mannose and galactose makes it an excellent humectant. Humectants consist of molecules small enough to penetrate the uppermost cells of the epidermis, where they can bind water like mini sponges. They are therefore actively involved in moisturizing the skin.
Aloe also promotes cell renewal. Thanks to its high content of amino acids (molecules capable of supporting the regenerative functions of the skin by promoting protein synthesis), it supports the natural production of collagen and elastin.
The fumaric acid contained in the pulp of the fruit also gives aloe antimicrobial and antifungal properties. This is probably why it has been used since ancient times for its healing properties, without the risk of infecting wounds.
Add to that a whole range of vitamins for a beautiful skin (A, B, C), that's why we and Les Poulettes are pretty big fans of aloe!
And yes, the BIO aloe is one of our favorite active ingredients, which you will find in the entire range of masks from Les Poulettes Paris.
